Glossary — Automation & Web

This glossary is designed to help you understand the essential concepts related to modern website creation, process automation and no-code tools. ACTA uses these technologies to transform your website into a real operational tool. Discover here the key terms that explain our approach.

Automation

Process that automatically performs repetitive tasks (emails, quotes, follow-ups, data storage) without human intervention, 24/7.

No-code automation

Automations created without coding, using visual tools like Make, Zapier or n8n. Ideal for small businesses wanting to save time without hiring a developer.

Make (formerly Integromat)

Automation platform that connects your website to your tools (CRM, Gmail, Sheets, Stripe…) and runs smart workflows continuously.

Zapier

No-code tool that connects different applications to automate simple actions (email, CRM, notifications).

n8n

Open-source alternative to Make and Zapier, used for more technical and customised automations.

Modern website

A fast, responsive, SEO-optimised website with a clean structure. Unlike simple “brochure” sites, it can be linked to internal automations.

Framer

The platform ACTA uses to build modern websites. It enables professional design, high performance and excellent integration with automation workflows.

Smart form

A form able to automatically send data to Make, a CRM or a database for instant processing.

CRM (Customer Relationship Management)

System that centralises client information: requests, quotes, history, invoices. It can be fully automated with Make.

Lead

A potential customer who submitted a form or made a request. Leads can be processed automatically via a connected CRM.

Automatic quote

System that generates an instant quote after a user completes a form. The quote can be automatically sent by email.

Conversion funnel (Sales Funnel)

Structured path for a visitor: page → form → automation → CRM → follow-up → conversion. Fully automatable with Make.

Webhook

Mechanism allowing a website to send data in real time to another tool (e.g., form → Make → CRM).

API

Interface allowing two tools to communicate. Used to connect your Framer website with external services.

Workflow

Sequence of automated actions defined in Make (e.g., “if a form is submitted → send email → create lead → notify”).

Follow-up sequence

Automation that contacts a prospect after a request: email Day+1, SMS Day+2, etc. Widely used by small businesses.

Database

Airtable, Notion or Google Sheets: used to automatically store data sent from your website.

Airtable

Visual database ideal for organising leads, quotes, appointments or orders generated through the website.

Stripe

Online payment tool. Can be connected to Make to send invoices, confirmations or receipts automatically.

Calendly

Automated scheduling system. It can be integrated into the website and connected to Make to handle confirmations and reminders.

Tracking pixel

Meta/Google code that tracks conversions, measures visits, optimises advertising and feeds marketing automations.

Core Web Vitals

Technical indicators measuring your website’s speed, stability and performance. Crucial for SEO ranking.

Technical SEO

Invisible optimisation of the site (tags, speed, H1/H2 structure, sitemap). A well-optimised site ranks higher on Google.

Administrative automation

Group of automations used to handle quotes, confirmations, invoices, follow-ups, forms, CRM and emails automatically.

AI (Artificial Intelligence)

Technologies used to automate decision-making, analyse data and optimise processes. Often combined with no-code tools to build smarter automations.

Automatic follow-up

Automation that sends reminders to prospects or clients (email, SMS, notification). Highly effective for improving conversion rates.

Connected form

Online form linked to a CRM, database or automation tool. Enables instant processing of incoming requests.
